13th Floor is a store out of Japan which collects and sells vintage Scandinavian pottery. Their curation of it is very nice, which is why I’m posting it to The Looksee, instead of posting links to Ebay (the more affordable route). These are some recent acquisitions.

So I was already familiar with/in love with Lorena Barrezueta’s work via her own site, but didn’t realize until searching through like 180 pages of ceramics on Etsy that Lorena has her own Etsy shop. If you don’t already know about her work, she primarily makes cast ceramic versions of things that are usually disposable (ie: aluminum pie tins, solo cups, etc). The result is beautiful.

Here is a sleekly animated little video about optical illusions, directed by Mauro Vecchi.

I like this image from the “Charming Suidcide” zine, and a lot of other work on AJ Purdy’s site. His other collaborative zine “Freak Out Face Off Force” is awesome too.

I keep finding more and more designers who are creating artful, high-fashion pieces with crochet/knitting techniques, often used in conjunction with other media. The result is often very sculptural and highly textured. Here are a few that I’ve found recently.

Sandra Backlund (who I found via Dezeen) is amazing- this photo is from a previous season, but you should really explore her site to see the full range of her work:

This is old news (by internet standards), but I just found that Ian Stevenson has a book out: “Best Wishes Get Well Soon”. As a sidenote, I was looking through his old ilikedrawing site, and his bathroom drawings for Mother, London made me laugh. There are more on his site.

I love Mociun’s prints. They make lovely things for men and women alike. Some of their prints remind me a little of Vena Cava who I also love.

*Hi everyone- sorry for the delay in posting. I am in Hawaii! Got here on Saturday, and the internet is really spotty in our condo, so I had to find the one cafe in town with wireless. Anyhow, I hope to make up for it by posting a few new items today!*
I just found the site of James Gulliver Hancock, and I especially like these great illustrations based on global myths and legends.

Japanese studio &design created these rad watches which I found on Generate Pipeline. Available for sale soon. I especially love the icon-style one on the right. The other one is an LED watch.
