This video is absolutely mesmerizing. I very rarely post videos, and this is the second this week (!) but it seemed like a shame not to pass this on.
“Certain liquids obey the laws of crystallization. Under a polarizing microscope, we observe transformations in structure, form and color with certain changes in temperature and pressure. 1. Smectic to cholesteric transition, isotropic liquid 2. Smectic rods 3. Supercooling of a cholesteric form.”
