A recent aquisition to my potted succulent collection. I thought at a glance that there were flowers on top, but they’re actually leaves! I think it must be a recent variegation, because I can’t find much info on this species. I think it’s lovely, don’t you? I found a handmade pale green matte glazed pot to go with it.

Today I totally scored. I found these three amazing pots (my favourite is the large modernist one on the left), and I found these two baskets with leather-wrapped handles. The baskets are perfect for my new office, and the pots are perfect for all my succulents and cacti that are rapidly needing bigger pots.

Thanks to Makelike for contacting me about their current Cactus collection which I’m absolutely in love with! These cactus tea towels and wallpaper are right up my alley. As you know I’m a big cacti/succulent hobbyist, and if you’ll indulge me for a second I’d just like to say that I feel like cacti are rarely represented in a way that doesn’t come across as cheesy or “early 90’s”, if you know what I mean. Also, it’s rare to see anything other than Saguaro depicted on anything.
So yes… this line is fantastic. Also, everything is limited edition, so get them quickly. Looking forward to seeing their next collection based on a celebration of the forest.

My garden is blooming. These Echeveria’s are especially lovely at the moment.

I love this project. Very cool installation using simple materials to great effect.

I love this series of planters by Joe Paine. I certainly have enough plants for these!

I have embarked on a slow but hopefully rewarding little project… I’m growing three different types of cactus from seed. The ones below are Gymnocalycium kieslingii and will someday look like this. They’ve made the most progress since I planted them two weeks ago which is why I’m only showing you these guys so far. Aren’t they so adorable?

Do you remember this post? Well here’s what the buds look like open! Most likely pollinated by flies, is my guess, due to the colouring. I think these are truly lovely little flowers. It’s the first time this succulent has bloomed for me, so I’m excited.

This site may be the most inspiring thing I’ve seen this week. Yes, I know it’s only Tuesday. Regardless, these are awesome. Trying to figure out how I can make my own and have it stay together without the use of copious amounts of peat moss…

Spring is here! Many of my succulents are blooming. The cornflower is from outside of my local post office (yes I’m a flower thief), but the little lavender stems with the tiny flowers are from some Sedums in my garden. Ignore the cottage cheese texture on my wall in the second picture.
*In other news, I put a ton of vintage shoes in the shop, so check them out!
