Fringe
I’ve been noticing that fringe is coming back around, after a conspicuous absence. First it’s started with the trend of twentysomethings wearing scarves with fringe, such as keffiyehs (anti-war scarves), and so on. There are several I found just on the Urban Outfitters website, such as this:
I’ve noticed it too, during this fashion week. The fringe has moved from scarves to dresses and tops, and designers are taking creative liberties with its many possibilities. For example this top was seen in the Vena Cava show:
These dresses, which I actually really like, were seen in the 3.1 Phillip Lim show:
I wonder if this trend will catch on with more than just the fashion forward?
Spring 2008 fashion week: worst!
I can’t say I’ve ever been a fan of Heatherette or any line that is too “jokey”.
Also, Gareth Pugh is getting a lot of hype, but I just don’t see the appeal aside from the “I can’t understand this, so therefore it must be genius” mentality. Yes, these are mice- mice made of mink!
