Wire name jewelry
The appropriately titled Wire Name Jewlery site is awesome (my personal favourite is the one for “Bubble Butt”). This technique has been around for ages, and it’s still timeless. Makes me wish I had a great nickname. Found via Stork Bites Man.

Tatty Devine
So several years ago before the laser-cut acrylic jewelry caught on, I found Tatty Devine’s site. They’re out of London, and I remember drooling over the awesome designs they were producing. Seems like they’re still doing more creative things with this medium than most companies who’ve jumped on the bandwagon. I love this idea: you can pick you own colour of acrylic, and select a typeface, and have your name made into a necklace. Here are some other amazing designs they’ve made with the acrylic.
(This is actually one of my favourites- it just so happens to be made of wood).
More SS08 picks
I realized the other day that while I was posting the collections that I loved from SS08 Fashion Week, there were a couple of lines I just plain forgot to post! Here are a few more collections that I loved.
Dries Van Noten (loved the prints and textures of the accessories)
Sonia Rykiel (I loved the exuberance of this show and the very feminine, gossamer gowns)
Crocheted Biology
I stumbled across work from Emily Barletta, who is making fantastic crocheted pieces which are very biology-centric. You can check out her work on her site, or on Art Star (where she is showing currently).
Flying Lotus “Reset”
Seth and his buddy Steven Serrato made the amazing cover art for the recent Flying Lotus album “Reset”. Warp Records also took the art and made this amazing video game with it.
