Carniverous terrariums

Our friend Mark Allen over at Machine Project has been growing some beautiful carnivorous plants in little terrariums.  The effect is quite delicate and lovely.  Check out his Flickr photoset. They will soon have them for sale too…

My sweet mother

My mom was so sweet, and bought me the much coveted Mina Perhonen book- vol.2 which is the Embroidery volume. I’m very excited about it. It was on my Christmas list, but I made my Christmas list a bit too late in the season (oops). So my mom gave it to me as a Valentines/Moving In present (we recently moved). The folks over at Tortoise wrapped it so nicely. Thanks again mom- I was not expecting this! See how pretty it is…

Father Magnus Wenninger

A retired Benedictine monk, Father Wenninger is “a pioneer in the mathematical art community, whose models of polyhedra have inspired a new generation of mathematical artists”.

You can actually order some of his polyhedra, however there’s no guarantee that they’ll be exactly what you want, as they all vary. I was very surprised by this site, and found it very endearing to see him tenderly holding his polyhedra. I love polyhedra as well, so I just had to post about Father Wenniger’s beautiful work.

This house in Mexico is blowing my mind… I can’t believe it’s real.

Geoff McFedridge & Ed Fella Show: Two Lines Align

Last night we met up with some friends at the opening of the Geoff McFedridge & Ed Fella: Two Lines Align show at RedCat in downtown LA at the Disney Concert Hall.  It was such a great show.  The pieces were curated very well, and I’d highly suggest going to see it before April 6th if you’ll be in the L.A. area.
