I am so enamoured of F-Troupe’s SS08 collection…  *sigh.  Great stuff in the mens collection as well.

This is such an amazing and simple little handmade cradle. Could very easily be passed down from generation to generation.

So typically, I’m not drawn to frilly light fixtures. However, I was fairly impressed with these from Velocity. They are crocheted, but they are simple enough in their design to work in a house that combines a bit of modernism with various other periods, and curious objects (*ahem, like mine).  I’m guessing that it may also be easy to make your own version of this too…

I found Nassef’s site a while back, where I found these great blocks that she made with some other folks.
Then today, I came across her Etsy shop. She is selling beautiful original pieces for around $100 which is a really great price.

I haven’t found much to grab my attention on Etsy for a while, but today I came across this sweet little ring from Etsy seller Gemmafactrix…

So, about a year ago or more, in an attempt to make myself less hung-up on formulating a clear idea of a finished product and tossing out my need to draw out my embroidery patterns in advance, I decided to make a pillow that was just one thread colour on a background of my choosing, and the pattern was to be determined as I went along. About 1/3 of the way into it, I got discouraged and stopped. So now that I’m not working, (thanks to my husband’s encouragement too) I’ve had time to pick it up once again . Anyway, I finished last week finally! It still has yet to be sewn into a pillow cover, but that will be the easy part!

This old experimental movie by a very young, lanky Jim Henson is amazing. He made it and stars in it. It is so beautiful; you really must watch it. I’m very sad I missed a screening in West Hollywood of a bunch of his old experimental movies which coincided with our anniversary this past Tuesday.
