Vintage Finds: Crazy quilt pillow & Little Friend jacket
The pillow I’m keeping, but this amazing child’s coat by “Little Friend” is in my shop. The tag in this coat is almost as rad as the coat itself.
Senecio articularis (variegated) “Candlesticks”
A recent aquisition to my potted succulent collection. I thought at a glance that there were flowers on top, but they’re actually leaves! I think it must be a recent variegation, because I can’t find much info on this species. I think it’s lovely, don’t you? I found a handmade pale green matte glazed pot to go with it.
Vintage Finds: Ceramics & baskets
Today I totally scored. I found these three amazing pots (my favourite is the large modernist one on the left), and I found these two baskets with leather-wrapped handles. The baskets are perfect for my new office, and the pots are perfect for all my succulents and cacti that are rapidly needing bigger pots.
TWITTER!
I’ve been using Twitter for a while now, but mostly for personal stuff not necessarily for The Looksee. But now I’m doing it! The Looksee is now on Twitter. If you are too, please feel free to follow. I promise to be sporadic in my Tweeting.
The Looksee on Refinery29
So many thank you’s go out to Refinery29 for featuring The Looksee Shop as its #3 of nine LA Etsy shops that you should bookmark now! It’s such a nice feeling when one of your daily reads features your work.

Thanks again!
Barlow: Fall 2010
Barlow clothing is named after Alice Barlow. I should mention that Barlow was my manager, and I was her assistant manager, for a lovely and raucous three-and-a-half years. When she interviewed me back in 2004, she was a tomboyish fresh-faced 19 year old wearing a Polo shirt, jeans, and sneakers. Now she’s got a freaking hot clothing line named after her! She’s working with Molly Girard Coonan, the designer of Cynthia Vincent, to create this gorgeous new line of clothes for chic/tough/feminine ladies everywhere. I saw the Spring collection at Coterie last fall and loved it.
Congrats to Barlow and Coonan on the write up in NY Mag, and here’s to the continued success of the line. Cheers!
Vintage Find: Girard-esque needlepoint
Now hanging over my mantle:
The photo can’t begin to capture the colours.
